Meet Matt Idler: Capturing Life, Business, and the West for 26 Years

Matt Idler is a professional photographer with 26 years of experience dedicated to delivering high-impact photography for corporations, businesses, families, and news outlets.

Matt’s journey began in high school, where he first picked up a camera to shoot for his school’s newspaper and yearbook. This passion quickly translated into his first professional work covering local newspapers and rodeo events, including the Cheyenne Tribune Eagle. He further honed his craft by earning an Associate in Applied Science in Photographic Communications from Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming.

In June of 1999, Matt launched his photography business. While he started with sports, rodeo, and portrait photography, his focus quickly shifted to creating advertising and marketing photography for businesses. Today, Matt specializes in commercial, industrial, and corporate photography, while still dedicating time to his roots in rodoe, sports, and portraiture, including senior and family sessions.

Growing up on a family ranch and team roping competitively, Matt’s deep connection to the Western lifestyle informs a significant part of his work. He maintains a large library of stock images documenting cowboy and Western life photography. When he’s not behind the lens, you can find him riding horses or team roping with his daughter at local roping jackpots.
